myDNA offer genetic counselling teleconsults for discussion of the APOE and HFE DNA test results obtained through the myDNA Comprehensive Health Report or Genetic Methylation Check. The APOE and HFE test results are explained and the potential impacts on the individual and their families is outlined. If there are any expected effects on the persons health from the results of the tests the counsellor will explain them and list next steps the individual can do to minimise or prevent the condition occurring. A summary report will be provided following the session.
Please note this consult is not intended to provide a broad interpretation of the myDNA/ Genetic Methylation Check test results and the scope of the consult is limited to the APOE and HFE test results. The genetic counselling session can take up to 1 hour in duration*. Sessions are available Tuesday afternoons and Thursday mornings (AEST). Please note that changes / cancellations must be made 48 hours in advance, or the session will be fully payable, and another consult must be booked.

Mrs. Chaya Goldman- Associate Genetic Counsellor BSc. M.GenCouns Chaya Goldman is a genetic counsellor at myDNA who counsels people about their genetic test results. She has a master’s degree in genetic counselling and provides information to people about the results of genetic tests they have had and how it would affect them and their family. She is dedicated to helping individuals and families understand their genetic testing results and the implications to them and their families.
Associate Professor __Les Sheffield (MBBS, BMedSci, MSc, DCH, FRACP, Cert. HGSA)__ *Les is a clinical geneticist, medical director, and founder of myDNA. He has a founding role in the development of the profession of genetic counselling in Australia and New Zealand. Les provides medical back up and supervision for all tests and counselling at myDNA. Chaya and Les will combine their knowledge and skills to provide up to date and informative counselling for i-screen clients who seek genetic counselling for APOE and / or HFE.
